What does "Plant a Quercus" do?

Plant a Quercus is dedicated basically to "plant new trees" of null or doubtful economic profitability for our generation and possibly the next one but which are essential in the habitat of the Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve of the Arribes del Duero, Zamora (Spain).

  • Holm oaks (Quercus ilex)
  • Cork oaks (Quercus suber)
  • Strawberry trees (Arbutus unedo)
  • Junipers (Juniperus oxycedrus)

Trees are only planted in two seasons to ensure that most will succeed.

October and November

February, March and April

According to the locals and forest engineers we have consulted, leaving these dates would lead us directly to failure as has happened on other occasions with similar initiatives within the Arribes del Duero Natural Park.
